EASTER CELEBRATION AT SCHOOL

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Easter is on its way and so is the curriculum theme on “All Creatures Great and Small” which we will explore next week. Through planned learning experiences, the children will learn ways that families celebrate Easter and the symbols representing Easter. Included will be customs such as the Easter bunny, Easter baskets and foods that are usually associated with Easter.

At school, we celebrate Easter on Thursday, 5^th of April 2012 and

· a special visitor for a week – a rabbit! The children will assist in taking care of the rabbit.

· a hat shop in the dramatic play area with materials to create Easter bonnets.

· Easter grass and plastic eggs in the sensory table.

· An egg hunt! We will search our play yard for hidden eggs and place them in our baskets to exchange for gifts.

The topics covered on “All Creatures Great and Small” includes :

Pre-Nursery : PETS and Animals we cannot keep.

Nursery : Wild Animals, Sea Creatures and Fresh Water
Creatures.

Kindergarten 1 : Life in the Pond. Life Underground. Life in the
Rainforest, Life in the Desert and Polar Regions.

Kindergarten 2 : Pre-Historic Animals and Endangered Animals.

Re: Hand Foot and Mouth Disease Caution and Cooperation

Dear Parents,

1. There have been many cases of Hand-Foot and Mouth disease (HFMD) in Kota Damansara. Kinderland had its 1^st case 2 weeks ago and we have sent many kids whom we suspect of having the disease home for medical check-up.

However, our concern has not been met by parents who choose to ignore our request and keep sending them back to school. There was an incident where the parent argued with our principal. Please be firmly reminded that we have every right to reject ill students in order to protect other students and our staff from contracting HFMD.

2. We are taking precaution by vigilantly screening our students everyday for symptoms and sending children displaying HFMD symptoms home. We seek your cooperation to check your child for symptoms daily and to quarantine your child for 10 days as well as inform the school should your child display symptoms of the disease in order to contain the spread of this communicable disease. Children will only be allowed to return if they obtain a certified free from infection letter by a registered medical practitioner. We have implemented strict control measures by disinfecting all materials and toys.

MALAYSIA DAY HOLIDAY AND CLASS PARTY

Dear Parents & Guardians,

RE: MALAYSIA DAY HOLIDAY AND CLASS PARTY
Please be informed that Taska Kinderland Kota Damansara, Tadika Kinderland D’Shire and Kinderland SPK will be closed on Friday 16^th September 2011. This is in view of Malaysia Day.

Classes shall resume as usual from Monday, 19-9-2011 onwards.

In conjunction with that, we will be having a RAYA/MERDEKA,MALAYSIA DAY party on Thursday, 15-9-2011. Please provide finger food for the children and they are encouraged to be dressed in party attire/ their respective traditional outfit.

For Full-Day students (8.30am – 3.00pm), school will be dismissed at 12.30pm.

Day-care services will be dismissed as per normal.

Unplug Your Kids

Organised by FOMCA, April 21st to 27th has been announced "Turn Off The TV Week". The international annual campaign began yesterday and it encourages parents to switch off the TV at home and spend some time with the children doing other things instead.

In this campaign, people are asked to close their TV for a week. This can also be extended to a week without a screen which includes computers, mobile phones, video game equipment and electronic devices that screen. The aim of this campaign is to encourage people, especially parents to spend leisure time with their children by doing other activities are more active and interact.

Some alternative activities for children and families include:

1. activities in the park

2. organize a community clean up

3. visit the zoo

4. go camping (even if it's in the backyard)

5. read a book

PLEASE BE REMINDED THAT THE ANNUAL SPORTS DAY WILL BE HELD ON THE 16TH OF APRIL WHICH IS THIS SATURDAY.

YOU ARE REQUIRED TO SEND YOUR CHILD/CHILDREN TO THE TAMAN TUN DR ISMAIL COMMUNITY HALL BY 9A.M. ON THE DAY ITSELF.

ATTACHED IN THE COMMUNICATION BOOK IS THE MAP TO THE VENUE.

PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOUR CHILD/CHILDREN COME TO THE SPORTS MEET DRESSED IN KINDERFIT ATTIRE AND APPRORIATE SPORTS SHOES. CROCS ARE HIGHLY DISCOURAGED.

SNACKS WILL BE SERVED TO THE CHILDREN DURING THE EVENT. IT WILL NOT BE NECCESSARY TO BRING ALONG WATER BOTTLES AS WATER WILL BE PROVIDED AS WELL.

Please take note, the earlier message was intended for the D'shire Excursion. For today's field the bus leaves at 8:30am. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Please take note:-

1. The children who are not attending the field trip are not required to attend school.

2. The bus leaves at 9 but the children are to be at school before 8:30 for a short briefing before the trip and toilet runs.

3. The bus will be back at school around 12:30 to 1:30. Please also take note, the children will be provided with food.
